Sophie is a purebred Border Terrier, born on April 2, 2001, in Paxton, Massachusetts. She came to live with us on Saturday, June 2. She was the firstborn from a litter of seven composed of five males and two females. Her father was Krispin Hot Topic (Quill) and her mother was Braelar's Scarlet Princess (Scarlet).

She is playful, energetic, and we spoil her to death. She loves squeaky toys, chin rests, nose mittens, naked feet and mail carriers. Sophie has the hubris to believe that the mail carrier is a special friend who comes to visit her every day. Many dogs hate the postman and bark at them because they are successful in frightening them away every time. However, from a young age when we were socializing Sophie by spending a lot of time on the front steps of our building, she assumed the postal worker came by every day just to see her. Also, many of the letter carriers in our neighborhood carry a stash of dog biscuits in their pockets, so Sophie recognizes the blue uniforms and enthusiastically greets anyone vaguely resembling a USPS employee.
